Native American Vintage Roach Headress

Description

Up for auction is a Native American vintage roach headress and hand carved stick for wrapping up roach for storage.  I believe this to be porcupine hair. Beautifully dyed a soft red. This is 18 inches long and was owned by an Native American artifact collector, Pow Wow dancer and author. The longest hair measures 8 inches from the base.  The base is 3 inches in diameter. The last 2 pictures are of the inside of the roach. Stitching seems secure and I've handled it and see no loose places.   There is evidence of previous moth. This is an old piece that shows some age.   Please view closely all pictures. I have taken pictures up and down the  roach.  I encourage you to ask questions and I will try to answer as best I can.
