    Description

    Unique vintage 50s/60s hand made/painted wood strong box/toy chest with old blue paint and Native American themed decoration.  The front lid boasts a vintage die cut sticker of an Indian Chief complete with various Native American symbols.  Each side panel boasts a hand painted teepee, one of which retains the ancient Native American symbol of good luck (later high jacked by the Germans to use as a symbol to protect themselves under during the World Wars).  The box is made of old wood boards; the exterior is painted with a great old teal blue paint and the interior is painted grey.  The lid is hinged with made in USA Stanley brand brackets and is secured with flat head screws.  Each side has rope handles affixed to it.  My assumption is that this was a child’s chest and most likely made for a Boy Scout or 50s/60s era kid who was into Cowboys and Indians to store their toys in.
    In Very Good/As Found overall condition.  Fully functional and sturdy and strong; a solid, quality, hand made box.  The bottom is sound and not worn or rotted.  Paint is chipped and heavily flaked on the exterior but still displays very handsomely.  Retains latch mechanism so the box can be locked with a padlock.
    Measures 18 1/2” x 14 1/4” x 10” tall.  Weighs just under 14 lbs.
