vintage BOSE 4½" full-range StarDriver, 1997—for Model 141 and others—excellent

Offered for your consideration is one (1)
BOSE
4½ inch full-range “StarDriver”
removed from my
Model 141
speakers, manufactured in 1997.  I believe this driver was also used in later versions of the
100
,
V-100
,
101
and possibly other
BOSE
speakers from the late 1990’s on, but buyer is ultimately responsible for knowing what their speaker requires.
So, please have a look at my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if this capable
BOSE
driver is correct for your needs.
This StarDriver is in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy paper cone with rubberized “star” is flawless and so is the voice coil dustcap.  Plus, the surround is
permanent
rubber not the fragile foam typically used. And, there’s no oxidation on the large magnet structure while the sturdy synthetic basket is in great shape as well.  Lastly, I left several inches of lead wire attached to the
BOSE
-style +/- ‘spike’ terminals for your convenience in retrofitting to your speaker.   Overall, this driver is exceptionally well-preserved!
Most importantly, this
BOSE
driver sounds perfect—clear and strong output with detailed midrange, well-pronounced highs and solid bass for the platform size.  Plus, its DC resistance tested at 5.4Ω consistent with a nominal 6 ohm driver rating.  Lastly, the basket measures 4½” (4 15/16” corner to opposite arc), it stands 2⅛” tall, and the three mount holes are each spaced 4⅛” apart, c-t-c.
So, if you have a blown or damaged driver in your

, or other suitable model, you’ve found the right listing—your speakers will be sounding their best once again!
