vintage JENSEN C7469 wide-range 8" woofer, USA 1966—OEM for KN Knight—great cond

Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage
Jensen
8 inch wide-range woofer
that was original equipment in a KN Knight Model 3004 speaker, USA-manufactured in 1966.  As you surely know, Jensen was a large OE supplier to the domestic speaker industry starting in the 1940’s in addition to producing their own popular speakers.  Per the EIA-format date code on the magnet cover, “617”, this mid/bass woofer was made in the 17th week of 1966.  Since the woofer was manufactured for KN, it lacks Jensen’s 220 source code; instead, the KN specification A8P6T appears alongside Jensen’s part number, C7469.
So, please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this splendid Jensen mid/bass driver is correct for your needs.
This Jensen woofer is in clean, excellent condition.  It has a sturdy paper cone that is structurally unharmed and the vented voice coil dustcap is perfect.  Plus, the surround is
permanent
, integral to the cone-style instead of the fragile foam that would soon come into widespread use.  And the galvanized steel basket is in great shape with no dings or noteworthy scratches.  Lastly, the +/- terminal screws are marked for polarity and were a welcome departure from soldering; one seldom-seen on mass market raw drivers back then.  Overall, this is an exceptionally well-preserved speaker.
More importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific with strong, well-detailed midrange, decent low-end for the platform size/type, and extending deep into treble.  Plus, since this 8 inch model was designed in the tube amp era, it produces good output even at low volumes.  And, I tested its DC resistance at 7.5Ω, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating.  Lastly, the basket measure7½” across (just over 8” at the corners), it stands about 2¾” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 5½” adjacent / 7¾” diagonal apart, c-t-c (the standard EIA mount pattern used on US-made 8” drivers for decades).
